Lead single “The Blues Is Here To Stay” and “Golden Crown” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. ‘Fever for the Bayou’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is the first studio album from Tab Benoit since bad diagnosis in 2005. Great Blues right here!
Golden Crown - A catchy, upbeat tune. I’ve found myself listening to I Can’t Hold Out back to back and back many times. No Tab Benoit song has come close to capturing my attention as Fever For The Bayou did. Best song on the album, love it. This song may be the most meaningful. Little Girl Blues is really the reason why I recommend buying Fever for the Bayou. Night Train marked the continuation of Tab Benoit in style evolution. My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Blues So Bad defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Got Love If You Want It is one of the best records ever.
