There were many famous songs of Soft Machine available. This album has some very good songs like Thank You Pierrot Lunaire and Hulloder. This is the first studio album from Soft Machine since bad diagnosis in 2004. Exciting stuff.
The sound in Hulloder is really warm and Soft Machine’s signature voice is still very much present. Dada Was Here is beautiful, yet underrated track. Some call A Concise British Alphabet (Pt Ii) from Volumes One and Two as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Hibou,Anemone And Bear - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Pataphysical Introduction (Pt I) is one of the more up-tempo songs on Volumes One and Two. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Why Are We Sleeping? is a great opener for Volumes One and Two. Plus Belle Qu’une Poubelle on Volumes One and Two is solid and easy to listen to. From the moment you listen to We Did It Again you’re hooked. Such hits like Priscilla will leave you hooked. Music in Save Yourself is astounding as in all tracks of Volumes One and Two. Voice of Soft Machine in So Boot If At All is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. I now have A Certain Kind as one of my personal favorites. Why Am I So Short? is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Hope For Happiness (Reprise) had me crying as I was able to relate so well. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Joy Of A Toy because the melody in the chorus is so good. Hope For Happiness catches attention immediately, Soft Machine is hitting on all cylinders in Lullabye Letter. A Concise British Alphabet (Pt I) is nothing but pure genius. Have You Ever Bean Green? one of the best in my collection. When I listen to Out Of Tunes in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. I think As Long As He Lies Perfectly Still is the best song Soft Machine has ever done. Pataphysical Introduction (Pt Ii) to me is the best you can get from Soft Machine. A fantastic track full of wonder. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Pig from the beginning to the end. Orange Skin Food rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Once you hear A Door Opens And Closes, you will listen to it over and over. 10.30 Returns To The Bedroom presents the cool mix of instruments on Volumes One and Two.
