Since completing 2004’s ‘Hu Hviss - A Ship’, Mum fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. While no new Mum album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in Europe. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Mum’s album Summer Make Good falls to No. 2 with 257,000, a sales slide of 61%. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Weeping Rock, Rock is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. In Nightly Cares Mum spins a tale you want to hear to the end. The Ghosts You Draw On My Back to me is the best you can get from Mum. Stir - A catchy, upbeat tune. Opening track Sing Me Out The Window shows the best of Mum. The Island of Children’s Children is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Summer Make Good. Away is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Charming song, great melody. Small Deaths Are The Saddest is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Will The Summer Make Good For All of Our Sins? presents the exquisite mix of instruments on Summer Make Good. Nice and different song.
