It’s natural for Macaco to take a stab at ‘Rumbo Submarino’ considering her long-professed love for Led Zeppelin. While no new Macaco album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in Australia. Self-described as Rock with lots of words, Macaco comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Overall, I would highly recommend Rumbo Submarino CD.
|titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Voice and instruments in Brujula pa ya complement each other. Na de ti has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. The sound of Ay no veas is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. 33 Revoluciones stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Music in Pirata de agua salada is amazing as in all tracks of Rumbo Submarino. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. La Maquina del tiempo as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Prisa Mata presents the excellent mix of instruments on Rumbo Submarino. I like the idea behind Burbuja Roja. Incomunikaos is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Oro en el Stereo is the most memorable and marvelous. No Macaco song has come close to capturing my attention as Tempestad did. Overall a nice softer song. Mulata Descolora actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Macaco’s face.
