It has been eight years Leo Ferre’ last studio CD, “Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. I am not a real Rock music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud’ really is amazing. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Leo Ferre energies, virtually a rebirth. Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud is not something you should pass up.
A fantastic track full of wonder. Il Patinait Merveilleusement (Verlaine) - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Mon Reve Familier (Verlaine) (2:04) a good melody. Soleil Couchants (Verlaine) is cool and different song. You can find feelings on this piece of art. L’espoir Luit Comme Un Brin De Paille Dans L’etable (Verlaine) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Art Poetique (Verlaine) is simple, dignified and effective, Leo Ferre refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Ame, Te Souvient-Il ? (Verlaine) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Music and lyrics of Le Buffet (Rimbaud) creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Les Poetes De Sept Ans (Rimbaud) had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Chanson D’automne (Verlaine) is absolutely incredible. Les Corbeaux (Rimbaud) is exquisite work of Leo Ferre. All of songs on Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud and have something to say letting alone Green (Verlaine). Music in Mes Petites Amoureuses (Rimbaud) is cool as in all tracks of Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud. Simple and heartfelt closing track Je Vous Vois Encor (Verlaine) closes Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud on a high note. It’s a great pleasure to listen to L’etoile A Pleure Rose (Rimbaud) from the beginning to the end. O Triste, Triste Etait Mon Ame (Verlaine) one of the best in my collection. In Reve Pour L’hiver (Rimbaud) you won’t find any flashy solos. Clair De Lune (Verlaine) is probably the most interesting track on Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud. Les Chercheurs De Poux (Rimbaud) is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Ma Boheme (Rimbaud) is a bit of a show-tune. Serenade (Verlaine) was the first single release from the album Chante Verlaine - Rimbaud.
