Since Juliana Hatfield last CD (In Exile Deo) on Capitol Records back in 2004, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Juliana Hatfield to take a stab at ‘Get in Line’ considering her long-professed love for Depeche Mode. When you buy a Juliana Hatfield album, you know exactly what you’re getting! This album is awesome.
Jamie’s in Town is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. The first time I listened to Tourist I was struck by its excellent sound. In Exile Deo couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Some Rainy Sunday. Tomorrow Never Comes is a striking and quite long song. Forever rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Dirty Dog - A classic Juliana Hatfield track. The song feels complete. Overall a nice softer song. It Should’ve Been You is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Only one song from In Exile Deo named Sunshine really got me. Don’t Let Me Down is exquisite song though, very addictive. My Enemy is a bit different from Juliana Hatfield stereotypical stuff.
