Since completing 2006’s ‘Tallahassee’s For Hookers’, Across Five Aprils fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. While no new Across Five Aprils album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2006 tour in Europe. Collapse isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This is my first Across Five Aprils Album and i must say i am blown away.
Let’s Whisper is really the reason why I recommend buying Collapse. New Management is a great opener for Collapse. Shot Down With Arrows is really a nice song to relax and listen too. From the moment you listen to Miss Mistress you’re hooked. Bring Me Their Head is a marvelous song and it grows on you. In With These Hands full palet of sound is used by Across Five Aprils to accentuate the presentation. Sunnyland is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. You have to get essence of the You’re Not Alone’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. I Will Stop The Rain - To me, this is the best song on the Collapse.
