This -song debut EP shows the promise that June Carter Cash has. Lead single “Keep on the Sunny Side” and “Oh! Susannah” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by June Carter Cash. Keep on the Sunny Side and Oh! Susannah is really good.
Oh! Susannah one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. From the moment you listen to Root, Hog Or Die you’re hooked. Baby, It’s Cold Outside is the albums biggest surprise. The sound in Country Girl is really warm and June Carter Cash’s signature voice is still very much present. Opening track Foggy Mountain Top shows the best of June Carter Cash. Fair And Tender Ladies is just simply stunning. He’s Solid Gone is absolutely incredible. Juke Box Blues is really a nice song to relax and listen too. No Swallerin’ Place is possibly the best song June Carter Cash has come up. June Carter Cash rocks harder than ever with Love Oh Crazy Love. The song feels complete. The Heel is one of the more up-tempo songs on Keep on the Sunny Side. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: How Did You Get Away From Me, which shows, blatantly, how much June Carter Cash has evolved as a singer. When I listen to Tall Loverman in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Charming song, great melody. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Keep on the Sunny Side. Keep On The Sunny Side to me is the best you can get from June Carter Cash. Jackson is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think If I Were a Carpenter is my favorite song on Keep on the Sunny Side. Music in The Loving Gift is marvelous as in all tracks of Keep on the Sunny Side. A Good Man is a very catchy tune. This track is clearly meant to showcase June Carter Cash’s vocal abilities. I loved Losin’ You the first time I heard it. The Shadow of A Lady is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. A fantastic track full of wonder. Once Before I Die (with Jerry Hensley) is a good listen every once in a while. The L&N Don’t Stop Here Anymore is outstanding work of June Carter Cash. June Carter Cash is one of artists that allow his songs like East Virginia Blues to stand on their own and be heard. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Appalachian Pride is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Some call I Love You Sweetheart from Keep on the Sunny Side as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Another Broken Hearted Girl - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Song to John gives good insight into the truths. The Far Side Banks of Jordan the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This song may be the most meaningful. A great put together song. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right.
