Since completing 2005’s ‘Are You Sincere’, Bobby Bare fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. seven years ago, Bobby Bare briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “I Am An Island”. The Moon Was Blue carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Bobby Bare is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Charming song, great melody. Everybody’s Talkin’ - Okay, I just talked about depth. Yesterday When I Was Young is probably one of Bobby Bare’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Song Love Letters In The Sand is actually a funny song. The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan is a bit different from Bobby Bare stereotypical stuff. The song feels complete. It’s All In the Game is really the reason why I recommend buying The Moon Was Blue. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Shine On Harvest Moon. Am I That Easy To Forget is a perfect song and it grows on you. Such hits like Fellow Travelers will leave you hooked.
