When you buy a Marcel album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Since Marcel last CD (Gamblers’ Delight) on Sparrow Records back in 2005, I have felt a massive void in my life. Marcel was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Marcel and Gamblers’ Delight together. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. This Is Your Night is probably the most interesting track on Gamblers’ Delight. Man Meeting Girl (feat. Sena) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Menthol Lights is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Quit Now? - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. First time I heard Lovesick No.1 (feat. Henriett Czerovszky) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Did You See That? - For me, this is the best of the album. The sound in I Like To Tell Ya Thingz is really warm and Marcel’s signature voice is still very much present. You’re In Deep is one of the more up-tempo songs on Gamblers’ Delight. This Is Deep is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Higher (Mi Amor) is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Marcel is one of artists that allow his songs like Thank You to stand on their own and be heard.
