It has been ten years Elakelaiset’ last studio CD, “Humppa-Akatemia (CD 1)” which won Array Academy Awards� and was nominated for album of the year. Lead single “Hyljatyn Humppa” and “Humppasonni” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. ‘Humppa-Akatemia (CD 1)’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Humppasonni is a exquisite song and it grows on you. Elakelaiset must have run out of lyrics on the next track Humppaosasto. Ja Humppa Soi is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Voice of Elakelaiset in Humppapappavaan is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Humppa Sujuu presents the exquisite mix of instruments on Humppa-Akatemia (CD 1). Hump (2:27) a good melody. Although Kuusessa Hevon is very melodic it is far from sad. Humppa-Akatemia (CD 1) couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Humppamedia. Some call Hotelli Helpotus from Humppa-Akatemia (CD 1) as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. |titile| is a sure sign of something most of us are experiencing, maturity. Humppaa, Saatanat! is really the reason why I recommend buying Humppa-Akatemia (CD 1). Poltettu Humppa is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. I now have Humppakone Humppa as one of my personal favorites. Humpparaakki - My least favorite song on this album. Elakelaiset rocks harder than ever with Humppalialaiset. If you are a Elakelaiset fan, you will love Pultsarihumppa. Humppakostajat (1:51) - awsome. In Humppaleski 45 you won’t find any flashy solos. Miinakenttahumppa is a very catchy tune. Humppasusi Ruotsissa which is my favorite is a truly Elakelaiset sounding song. Elakelaiset allows each song to breathe and flourish. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing.
