This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Calibre has. I am not a real Drum & Bass music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Second Sun’ really is amazing. Since Calibre last CD (Second Sun) on SixSteps records back in 2005, I have felt a massive void in my life. Enjoy the show.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Second Sun is Timeout (feat. DRS). You can find feelings on this piece of art. Kiya (feat. Crow) has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. After few listenings I started to like Blink Of An Eye (feat. Lariman) more and more. Within the first few notes of Breathing Man it’s perfectly clear that Calibre is living this song. Got A Thing - A classic Calibre track. Is It U on Second Sun is solid and easy to listen to. Voice of Calibre in Drop It Down (feat. Singing Fats) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Go Back To Go Forward is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Second Sun gives taste of what makes Calibre special as a musician. All The While - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Don’t Watch This - This is a very lively song. Bullets (feat. Diane Charlemagne) is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside.
