‘The Complete Works, Volume Two (CD 1)’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Self-described as Alternative with lots of words, Spiritualized comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Spiritualized energies, virtually a rebirth. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Don’t Go / Stay With Me is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Don’t Go / Stay With Me (The Individual) - My least favorite song on this album. Broken Heart (Instrumental) is a bit of a show-tune. Lay Back In The Sun (Single Version) is a strong cut, one of many. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Electricity. Strong, powerful vocals of Spiritualized in Spread Your Wings (Instrumental) are very impressive. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. I Think I’m In Love (Radio Edit) - Check out that bassline! Broken Heart is pretty funky and mellow. The X Files Theme is the most memorable and exquisite. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Broken Heart (Instumental).
