John Digester has compared writing for Funkdoobiest’s new album to that on ‘12 - Rock On’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. It has been nine years Funkdoobiest’ last studio CD, “12 - Rock On” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. ‘12 - Rock On’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This album is a scorcher!
Rock On (Buckwild Remix) on 12 - Rock On is solid and easy to listen to. Rock On (J&B Remix) one is one of the better boring ones. Rock On (Radio Edit) is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Rock On (Instrumental) has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Funkdoobiest’s strong vocals come to the fore. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Rock On (Club Version) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody.
