This is one of the best Cd’s Willie Colon has dropped to date. Since completing 2006’s ‘Guajira Ven’, Willie Colon fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It has been seven years Willie Colon’ last studio CD, “Lo Mato” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Lo Mato constantly brilliant.
Voso is Willie Colon’s best work in years. Dia de Suerte still maintains something of a specific flourish. Junio 73 - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Calle Luna Calle Sol is the funkiest number on the album. Todo Tiene Su Final one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Lo Mato couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Maria. Senora Lola is so unique, as each one of the songs is.
