There is so much to love about Willie Colon, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On Crime Pays album, Willie Colon have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Lead single “Eso Se Baila Asi” and “Titan” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is what good R&B: Soul should be.
Titan good vocals. Strong, powerful vocals of Willie Colon in Que Lio are very impressive. Juana Pena is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Crime Pays couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Guajiron - Colon, Willie. Guisando is the most memorable and gorgeous. Jazzy is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Crime Pays. Che Che Cole one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. I love the melodic melody of Malo and to this day it makes me feel good.
