There is no doubt that Slum Village has talent. This is one of the best Cd’s Slum Village has dropped to date. two years ago, Slum Village briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Set It”. Slum Village touched my soul like nothing else.
There is gorgeous mix of music in Set It. This is probably my favorite song on the album. No Slum Village song has come close to capturing my attention as Call Me - Dwele, Slum Village did. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Slum Village. After you’ve listened to 1, 2, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. The sound of Multiply is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. 1-800-S-L-U-M makes a person feel marvelous. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Hear This. This is one hell of a track. Hell Naw! is probably the most interesting track on Slum Village. Ez Up is the albums biggest surprise. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Slum Village.
