I am not a real R&B: Soul music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Affirmation’ really is amazing. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Beverley Knight energies, virtually a rebirth. Lead single “Come As You Are” and “Not Too Late For Love” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This album is awesome.
All of songs on Affirmation and have something to say letting alone Not Too Late For Love. Beverley Knight breathes new life into the music in First Time. Straight Jacket is a bit of a show-tune. I can’t stop humming along Keep This Fire Burning. Blew our minds when we first heard No One Ever Loves In Vain. Affirmation hits the heart. Supasonic is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Tea & Sympathy still maintains something of a specific flourish. Below My Radar - For me, this is the best of the album. Under The Same Sun is one of these floating songs. Till I See Ya is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Salvador - another great track from the Affirmation album. Music and lyrics of Remember Me creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming.
