fifteen years ago, Richard Cheese briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Yellow”. This is one of the best Cd’s Richard Cheese has dropped to date. There is so much to love about Richard Cheese, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
As always, Richard Cheese’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. From the moment you listen to Girls Girls Girls you’re hooked. I have all of Richard Cheese’s tracks and Are You Gonna Be My Girl is probably the most his introspective effort. I came to like A Message from the Other Dick. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Butterfly, which shows, blatantly, how much Richard Cheese has evolved as a singer. Hey Ya is probably the highlight of the album. This is one hell of a track. Milkshake is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Dick in Las Vegas is a song to enjoy for years to come. Music and lyrics of Personal Jesus creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Material Girl is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. RC on NBC’s Last Call W-Carson is the more seemingly obscure song on I’d Like a Virgin that bear up best to repeated listening. War Ensemble is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. One listen to the sheer beauty of Stand Up was all I needed. A great put together song. Feeling This is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Richard Cheese is hitting on all cylinders in 99 Luftballons. Such hits like Rock the Casbah will leave you hooked. Richard Cheese rocks harder than ever with Longview. Hidden Track - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Richard Cheese. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. All of songs on I’d Like a Virgin and have something to say letting alone Hidden.
I’d Like a Virgin CD
