Since completing 2006’s ‘Tu Me Quemas’, Eddie Santiago fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Eddie Santiago energies, virtually a rebirth. Jim Jones has compared writing for Eddie Santiago’s new album to that on ‘Pura Salsa’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. IT makes me wanna dance!
Para Que Vuelves has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Eddie Santiago’s strong vocals come to the fore. Ma is pretty funky and mellow. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Hagamoslo - A classic Eddie Santiago track. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Volcan de Amor is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Pura Salsa have ended. Antidoto y Veneno is a great opener for Pura Salsa. Cabalgata the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Lluvia is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. Eddie Santiago allows each song to breathe and flourish. Me Fallaste one is one of the better boring ones. No Eddie Santiago song has come close to capturing my attention as M did. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Cada Vez.
