On the Latvia charts, superstar Jean Grae’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Jean Grae was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Jean Grae and This Week together. This Week carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. A-Alikes and Before the Spot-Skit is really good.
Before the Spot-Skit as a highlight of This Week contains a ton of gorgeous melodies. Cuervo Loco-Skit is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Jean Grae offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. After about the third Fyre Blazer listen through, I began to believe this song is Jean Grae’s essence. When listening to Give it Up, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. In Going Crazy it becomes nowhere more obvious that Jean Grae has yet to define own style. In Intro the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Music of Not Like Me is gentle, never overbearing. P.S. pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Style Wars F. Block Mccloud - arguably the best track on This Week album. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Watch Me. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. You Dont Want it is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations.
