Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz and Put Yo Hood Up together. Since Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz last CD (Put Yo Hood Up) on EMI Records back in 2006, I have felt a massive void in my life. Put Yo Hood Up isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. I Love Put Yo Hood Up from start to finish!
Uhh Ohh is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Put Yo Hood Up have ended. Put Yo Hood Up has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Bia Bia motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Bia Bia Check In - To me, this is the best song on the Put Yo Hood Up. Who you wit - arguably the best track on Put Yo Hood Up album. Let my niggas go is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. There is exquisite mix of music in Move bitch. Hands off (my niggas) is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Sexlude is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. I can’t stop playing Bounce dat. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Searcylude - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Opening track Where dem girlz at shows the best of Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz. I have all of Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz’s tracks and I Like Dem Girlz is probably the most his introspective effort. Nasty girl is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. DJ Hershey live at the blue flamel is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. A great put together song. Outro chynalude is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Charming song, great melody.
