When you buy a Stereolab album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Self-described as Rock: Pop-Rock with lots of words, Stereolab comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. ‘Margerine Eclipse’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
I find myself hearing bits of Need To Be here and there throughout my waking hours. Such hits like Sudden Stars will leave you hooked. Cosmic Country Noir defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. La Demeure is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Margerine Eclipse. Margerine Rock is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. The Man With 100 Cells as a highlight of Margerine Eclipse contains a ton of excellent melodies. Margerine Melodie is such a perfect and optimistic song that things can get just better. Hillbilly Motorbike (2:23) a good melody. Feel and Triple is probably one of Stereolab’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Bop Scotch is nothing but pure genius. Music in Dear Marge is marvelous as in all tracks of Margerine Eclipse.
