Since Joan of Arc last CD (Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain…) on Blue Note Records back in 2004, I have felt a massive void in my life. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Joan of Arc. Joan of Arc’s debut, ‘Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain…’, does not fit easily into one genre. Apocalypse Politics and The Title Track Of This Album is really good.
This track is full of harmonies and gets Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain… off to a relaxing start. Joan of Arc must have run out of lyrics on the next track Queasy Lynn. White and Wrong is absolutely incredible. The opening track Onomatopoepic Animal Faces is very much like you would expect from other albums. Music and lyrics of A Half-Dead Girl Named Echo creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Once Deep Rush gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Fleshy Jeffrey has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. I now have Abigail, Cops and Animals as one of my personal favorites. The song The Details Of The Bomb ending is my favorite… so catchy! It’s such an underrated song. The Telephones Have Began Making Calls is perfect and different song. The Cash In and Price is a bit of a show-tune.
