‘Pigs Of The Roman Empire’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This album has some very good songs like III and The Bloated Pope. Now signed to Melvins’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “Pigs Of The Roman Empire” leads Melvins’s back-to-school campaign. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
I came to like The Bloated Pope. Toadi Acceleratio is nothing but pure genius. Pigs Of The Roman Empire hits the heart. In Pink Bat Melvins is at his best. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Zzzz Best. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. The first time I listened to Idolatrous Apostate I was struck by its cool sound. Untitled gives taste of what makes Melvins special as a musician.
