This ten-song debut EP shows the promise that John Cale has. When you buy a John Cale album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Jim Jones has compared writing for John Cale’s new album to that on ‘Fear’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Fear constantly brilliant.
Buffalo Ballet is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Barracuda, which shows, blatantly, how much John Cale has evolved as a singer. Emily without a doubt is the standout song of Fear. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Ship Of Fools is my favorite song on Fear. Gun - arguably the best track on Fear album. The Man Who Couldn’t Afford To Orgy - A strong beat. You Know Me More Than I Know is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. I love the melodic melody of Momamma Scuba and to this day it makes me feel good.
