For older fans Saffron and Silk will put a massive smile accross your face. three years ago, Govi briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Saffron & Silk”. Since completing 2004’s ‘Call of the East’, Govi fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Another great offering from Govi.
Saffron & Silk - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Carioca Cat is a exquisite, simple song by Govi at the top of his game. Baile del Corazon is probably one of Govi’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. This song stands out greatly from the others. Neroli is a bit of a show-tune. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. A unique and uplifting song.
