While no new NoMeansNo album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in Asia. NoMeansNo had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. On The People’s Choice album, NoMeansNo have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. The People’s Choice is not something you should pass up.
Sex Mad - This one makes me want to not only sing along. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Theresa, give me that knife. Body Bag is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Some of the arrangements found on The People’s Choice are surprisingly edgy. NoMeansNo offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. I need you catches attention immediately, It’s Catching up is pretty funky and mellow. Humans is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. What sets I can’t stop talking apart is NoMeansNo’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. The day everything became nothing (live) (4:47) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! The first time I listened to Dad I was struck by its exquisite sound. The river is a perfect sing-along. Victory - For me, this is the best of the album. Give me the push is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
