Lead single “Before I Let You Go (with Blackstreet)” and “Falling In Love Again (with Blackstreet)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. The Definitive Collection isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After seeing Before I Let You Go (with Blackstreet), I had to have a good Dave Hollister cd. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Dave Hollister ever.
As always, Dave Hollister’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Baby Mama Drama is a very catchy tune. My Favorite Girl - My least favorite song on this album. I’m Sorry (My Favorite Girl Remix) is a good listen every once in a while. The Definitive Collection couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Take Care Of Home. One Woman Man (4:35) - awsome. Keep Lovin’ You (Original Version) is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Dave Hollister is one of artists that allow his songs like I’m Wrong to stand on their own and be heard. Tell Me Why great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.I believe It’s Okay is one of the most excellent, heartfelt songs ever written. Dave Hollister is hitting on all cylinders in Baby Do Those Things. Real Talk the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Blew our minds when we first heard Good Ole Ghetto. Song Spirit (Does Anybody Care ?) - Force One Network (Bonus Track) is actually a funny song.
