Self-described as New Age with lots of words, Shigeru Umebayashi comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. House Of Flying Daggers is an amazing album, racked with beauty. There were many famous songs of Shigeru Umebayashi available. Unappreciated gift to New Age
This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. This is probably my favorite song on the album. The Peonyhouse is a medium tempo tune. I think Battle In The Forest is the best song Shigeru Umebayashi has ever done. Taking Her Hand is really the reason why I recommend buying House Of Flying Daggers. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Leo’s Eyes, which shows, blatantly, how much Shigeru Umebayashi has evolved as a singer. Lovers (Flower Garden) has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. No Way Out is possibly the best song Shigeru Umebayashi has come up. Lovers (Erfu Solo) on House Of Flying Daggers is solid and easy to listen to. Farewell No 1 I just LOVE this mix! Bamboo Forest gets you up and jumping. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Ambush In Ten Directions (Shi Mian Mai Fu). When I listen to Leo’s Theme in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Mei and Leo is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on House Of Flying Daggers is The House Of Flying Daggers. Shigeru Umebayashi must have run out of lyrics on the next track Lovers (Mei and Jin). Farewell No 2 is the funkiest number on the album. Within the first few notes of Until The End it’s perfectly clear that Shigeru Umebayashi is living this song. In Lovers (Title Song) Performed By Kathleen Battle the music gets its power.
