This album has some very good songs like Holy Rollin’ and Runaways. Road Tested 2003-2005 is an amazing album, racked with beauty. It’s natural for Sage Francis to take a stab at ‘Holy Rollin” considering her long-professed love for Green Grey. To me Sage Francis is the best band ever.
Runaways - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. A great put together song. Voice of Sage Francis in Bang Bang Boogie/Climb Trees is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Specialist actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Sage Francis’s face. Kiddie Litter Spoken Word - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Sage Francis is one of artists that allow his songs like Sea Lion Extended to stand on their own and be heard. Inherited Scars pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. You can find feelings on this piece of art. In Makeshift Patriot it becomes nowhere more obvious that Sage Francis has yet to define own style. Majority Rule is a medium tempo tune. Rewrite/50 Ways is the albums biggest surprise. Still going through Road Tested 2003-2005 and coming to appreciate Crack Pipes/Product Placement more and more with every listen. Dirty is one of the best records ever. What’s Your Name? one of the best in my collection. From the moment you listen to Underbite Ben Finds God (Spoken Word) you’re hooked. Sage Francis offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Slum Lord Intermission is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. I love the melodic melody of Next Testament and to this day it makes me feel good. Bridle Extended is one of the more up-tempo songs on Road Tested 2003-2005.
