Pocket Revolution isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. On Pocket Revolution album, dEUS have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. ‘Pocket Revolution’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. dEUS is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Only one song from Pocket Revolution named 7 Days, 7 Weeks really got me. Stop-Start Nature is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything dEUS released so far. If You Don’t Get What You Want is the more seemingly obscure song on Pocket Revolution that bear up best to repeated listening. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Include Me Out - This is a very lively song. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Although Nightshopping is very melodic it is far from sad. Cold Sun Of Circumstance is a striking and quite long song. The Real Sugar is one of the coolest songs dEUS has ever recorded. Sun Ra is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Nothing Really Ends is the song that really did it for me.
