Cathedral had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This is the first studio album from Cathedral since bad diagnosis in 2004. When you buy a Cathedral album, you know exactly what you’re getting! I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Cathedral ever.
Neophytes For Serpent Eve (Demo Version) is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. I like the agression and power of Violet Breath. Opening track Night Of The Seagulls (Demo Version) shows the best of Cathedral. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. A Funeral Request (Live In Brussels, Belgium 18/4/94) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. The Olde Oak Tree - This is a very lively song. Although Schizoid Puppeteer is very melodic it is far from sad. Carnival Bizarre (Demo Version) - another great track from the The Serpent’s Gold CD2 - The Serpent’s Chest album. Rabies (Witchfinder General Cover) - a classic song. After about the third Blue Light (Live In Tokyo, Japan 30/5/01) listen through, I began to believe this song is Cathedral’s essence. Commiserating The Celebration (Of Life; Demo Version) is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Cathedral released so far.
