I’m A One Woman Man is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Essential CD2. The Right Left Hand has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets George Jones’s strong vocals come to the fore. I Always Get Lucky With You is a bit of a show-tune. Still Doin’ Time - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. You’ve Still Got A Place In My Heart is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. I’ve Aged Twenty Years In Five - arguably the best track on The Essential CD2 album. I hope to keep hearing George Jones works for a long time to come. The song feels complete. Someday My Day Will Come which is my favorite is a truly George Jones sounding song. The Battle is really the reason why I recommend buying The Essential CD2. Stand On My Own Two Knees - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. I Just Don’t Give A Damn - A strong beat. A Drunk Can’t Be A Man is perfect. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. This track is clearly meant to showcase George Jones’s vocal abilities. In These Days (I Barely Get By) full palet of sound is used by George Jones to accentuate the presentation. We Loved It Away (Duet With Tammy Wynette) is a very catchy tune. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. I love the melodic melody of The Grand Tour and to this day it makes me feel good.
