While no new Mewithoutyou album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2004 tour in North America. This is one of the best Cd’s Mewithoutyou has dropped to date. This album has some very good songs like Torches Together and January 1979. This album is awesome.
I listened to the opening track January 1979 and liked it a lot. Tie Me Up! Unite Me! is simply astounding. What sets Leaf apart is Mewithoutyou’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Listening to Seven Sisters you can hear that Mewithoutyou has still amazing chemistry with band members. The Soviet - For me, this is the best of the album. Paper Hanger is beautiful, yet underrated track. Still going through Catch For Us The Foxes and coming to appreciate My Exit, Unfair more and more with every listen. Four Word Letter (Part Two) is probably one of Mewithoutyou’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. In Carousels it becomes nowhere more obvious that Mewithoutyou has yet to define own style. This is probably my favorite song on the album.
