Kamal’s debut, ‘Reiki Whale Dreaming’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is the first studio album from Kamal since bad diagnosis in 2005. Kamal was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Kamal and Reiki Whale Dreaming together. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
The Yearning is absolutely incredible. I believe Initiation is one of the most gorgeous, heartfelt songs ever written. Raga For A Whale catches attention immediately, Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Lyrics of A Whispering Dream are precise and evocative. The Healing Waters is a astounding, simple song by Kamal at the top of his game. I have all of Kamal’s tracks and Coming Home is probably the most his introspective effort.
